Short: MPEG audio encoder (MC68030/040/060+FPU)
Uploader: tavenard@xiii.univ-angers.fr
Author: Stephane TAVENARD (FRANCE)
Type: mus/misc
Requires: a MC68EC030+ and FPU (accelerator and fastram recommended)
When I tryed MusicIn from Michael Rausch I read this:
"Encoding takes 50 times realtime on my A4000/040 for 44kHz stereo to a
128kBit stream; so don't expect it to fly on your A3000 ...."
Argh he was right and it was too slow for my poor 68030/FPU/40 MHz" :(
I decided to optimize this one.
Now you can encode a 3 min mono sample in about 2 hours with a 68030/FPU/40 Mhz :'}
but if you have a 68060 (like me) you can encode it in 15 minutes.
